Meet Our INSTRUCTORS!

  • Stephanie B. Kurimski is a multi-media artist based in Carlsbad, specializing in digital media. With formal training in drawing, painting, and design, she has expanded her artistic expertise through self- directed study in digital art, leatherwork, and Native beading. Her work integrates traditional techniques with contemporary approaches, creating a distinctive blend of craftsmanship and innovation. As a dedicated member of the Carlsbad community, she is committed to enriching local culture by promoting art and creativity. Stephanie believes in the transformative power of art to inspire, engage, and elevate the community.

  • Mike Campos is a local artist working with multiple mediums and enjoys painting and drawing from real life. One of his biggest joys is sharing what he has learned and letting students express themselves creatively.

  • As a self-taught artist, Elizabeth Duffy is most inspired by manga and anime. She is dedicated to helping others realize and gain confidence in their artistic abilities.

  • Makayla Cardona has lived in New Mexico for almost 20 years. She is married, with three children. She is a cosmetologist by trade, but her passion is watercolor painting.

Hanging Beaded Tapestry

Create a colorful hanging tapestry using pony beads. Students will plan and map out their design, then translate it into a finished piece—ready to display at home.

Beaded Embroidery

Learn a traditional Native beading technique in this introductory class. Students will follow a design and bring it to life by stitching beads onto fabric, creating a decorative patch that can be added to any accessory. No prior experience is needed!


In this class, we'll enjoy experimenting with acrylic paints and masking tape. We will explore different ways to create abstract patterns to landscapes. Each day, multiple mini masterpieces will come to light as we have fun trying out a unique approach to painting.
